Community Sanitation Overview:
The City of Nightmute provides a small water facility, which is the central watering point for residents to haul their own water. The City also provides water and sewer haul service. The city utility system has 42 residential units and 15 commercial units. The school has its own sewage lagoon. A washeteria is not available. The Nightmute power plant was acquired by AVEC in March 1998. Electricity is provided by AVEC. 
RUBA Status & Activities This Qtr:
On September 14, 2012, June 1, 2012, March 27, 2012 and December 22, 2011 requests for information to update the RUBA quarterly report were sent to the City of Nightmute. Up to this writing, the requested documentation has not been provided. Therefore the city is no longer in compliance for several essential indicators until documents needed for verification is provided.A RUBA assessment is being planned for October 2012.

On September 14, 2012 a form requesting release of federal tax information from 2008 to 2012 was sent to the City of Nightmute. At the time of this writing the City has not responded to this request. The state Department of Labor (DOL) was contacted on September 24, 2012. DOL verified that the City of Nightmute is current on their Employment Security Contributions (ESC) account. The City of Nightmute is not on the Lien Watch dated July-August 2012.
